Visualization of Astrophysical Data Workshop, May 2005

Mark SubbaRao blogs about the visualization workshop organized by Randy Landsberg and others (including Mark) at the University of Chicago. Randy runs the outreach program at the Astronomy & Astrophysics Department and at the Kavli Institute for Cosmological Physics there. They and other astronomers organized an visualization workshop for astrophysical and other data, and have put up much as much information (slides/links/etc) about it here. The breadth of speakers at such a small workshop was impressive, and strangely enough, meshed.
PS: I was there. You can see me top left in the group picture above. Mark and Randy are at the bottom left. Unfortunately, I didn't get to spend much time there as I was co-organizing the Machine Learning Summer School with John Langford et al, and had to keep rushing downtown to apply for British and German visas. Drat!
